The joy of being a "Grandmom"

This past weekend I had the joy of spending some time with my daughter, Hannah, and her son(and my lil' Buddy, Isaiah)and my dear Priscila (my other daughter :) with lil' Gianna (she's my lil sweetie ) and even though there have been trying circumstances on the home front, there is so much joy spending time with my grandchildren!!! How easy it is to forget about all those sleepless nights, fussy times, teething ,but I know one of my greatest calls is to encourage all the precious moms (including my preschool moms) that this is only a season, and this too will pass. When I think back to those times, I treasure the memories, good and bad. God is so amazing in how He weaves His beauty and character through the difficulties of our lives, as we yield to Him. The littlest things that we overlook are what God is using( like disappointments, difficult children, losses, sibling rivalry, and I could go on)to remove the impurities of our hearts so that our reflection will be Jesus, the true treasure!!!I am so greatful that God has kept me on this earth long enough to see my children's children!!! I pray for all you Moms and Grandmoms, that God will give you joy in your calling!!!

Keep on singing.........

Thinking of today's date, September 11, 2001, I remembered that I was on the playground at our school with 15 little children, when our secretary,Ruth came running outside and told us to come in quickly ( she tried not to appear upset for the sake of the kids, but it was obvious something was terribly wrong). It was a very sad and tragic day,and many of us were sobered ,realizing how many people died on that day,but I also remember God's goodness to me that morning, very clearly directing me to Psalm 59 where David says"I will sing of your of your strength, yes I will joyfully sing of your lovingkindess,in the morning.for You have been my stronghold and a refuge in the day of my distress"When we were told we couldn't take the children out on the playground for the next several weeks,I said to the Lord"What are we going to do"????? and He said SING!!!!!So we sang .And thanks be to God,the little ones in our class were able to ride this storm with a happy heart. The music time that began with September 11,2001, still goes on today, because every Thursday and Friday we get together with the 4 year old class to SING.There is a Proverb (and Solomon was the wisest man to ever live)that says"He who has a glad heart has a continual feast, reguardless of circumstances"Prov.15:15God is so good not only to prepare us but to give us His wonderful grace and wisdom in very challenging times of our lives!!!Thank you my Precious Jesus, you truely are an awesome God!!!

A new year begins!!!!

Well, the summer is just about over and a new school year has begun!! New beginnings are great for us all:A new perspective, new goals, new friends to meet and an excitement about what God has in store for this new year. Every year that I have taught (and this is my 15th year ) always has its challenges, but God uses these things to work perseverance, steadfastness, faith and many other virtues in our lives. One of the things I have learned is to keep my eyes on Jesus," fixed on Him" because no matter what comes my way , big trial or little,if I'm looking at Jesus,I will see through His eyes of Faith, and discouragement will not took root in my heart. This doesn't mean that I won't be tempted, but when Satan wields those firey darts of doubt, despair, etc, up goes my shield of Faith and it extingishes the fire!!!!" I would have despaired unless I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living" Ps.27 says. I pray that everyone will see how important it is to " Lay aside every weight and everthing that easily entangles you (the devil's traps) and RUN with endurance the race set before you, FIXING your eyes on Jesus!!! His grace is sufficient for you, whatever comes your way!!!!
